Purpose of role

To minimise the clients’ risks associated with retail theft and provide for a safe retail trading environment. This will be achieved by:

•? A high-profile visible security presence at storefront entry (Static Security/Loss Prevention Uniformed Officer Role).
•? The prevention of various forms of retail crime.
• ?The protection of merchandise, property, assets, and people.
•? The reduction of financial loss associated with criminality.
•? Creation of a safe and secure retail environment.
•? The prevention of customer aggression and other forms of anti-social behaviour.
•? Supporting emergency situations.

Primary function of the position:

To reduce shrinkage by detecting theft and fraud by preventing individuals responsible and recovering merchandise or assets on behalf of Redfern Retail Risk clientele.

Major Responsibilities
Retail Security and Loss Prevention – Operational
• Maintain a high profile for the deterrence of theft, fraud, and protection of our assets and people at the front entry of the store.
• Provide exceptional customer service to retail clientele entering and exiting the store environment.
• Conduct customer and team member bag checks as required and approved by clientele.
• Proactively identify operational, and shrinkage-related issues.
• Proactively identify threats and risks to the safety and security of customers, team members and assets.
• Timely security and loss prevention incident reporting of identified events.
• Works cohesively with other retail stores and Loss Prevention team members employed by the client.
• Works cohesively with other local law enforcement and security shopping center team members employed by the client.
• Supports the client in managing emergency situations, retail customer aggression and anti-social behaviour.

Requirements.

Mandatory NSW 1A Security Officers License, and First Aid Certificate
